THEME - WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

The position of women and their status in any society is an index of its civilization. Woman constitutes the family, which leads to society and Nation. Social and economic development of women is necessary for overall economic development of any society or a country.
Woman has entrepreneurial abilities but has not been capitalized in a way in which it should be, where they can excel their skills with maintaining balance in their life.
Women are considered as equal partners in the process of development. However, women have not been actively involved in the mainstream of development even though they represent equal proportion of the population and labour force. Primarily women are the means of survival of their families, but are generally unrecognized and undervalued.
In the present changing scenario, skills in entrepreneurial development have become important. Women entrepreneurs have been making considerable impact in almost all the segments of the economy. Many entrepreneurial opportunities particularly for women are still emerging in various fields such as computers, electronics, medicine, agriculture, food technology, fashion designing etc.
‘Women Entrepreneurs’ is an act of business ownership and business creation that empowers women economically, increases their economic strength and position in the society.
IITF (Indian International Trade show) is an annually organized mega trade show which has been one of the cornerstones of Indian trading scene in the recent history. The IITF 2014 trade show has been known for its massive scale and carnival like atmosphere which has attracted wide variety of buyers and sellers from within the country and overseas. India International Trade Fair event will take place over a period of 10 days, starting from 14th November 2014 and it has been organized by Indian trade promotion organization. The first 5 days of the fair will be exclusively assigned for business and the rest of the fair will be open to the public. The theme of this year's show is inclusive growth which is aimed at enabling people to contribute and benefit from the economic growth. Japan has been chosen as this year's partner country and a pavilion has been dedicated for showcasing Japanese merchandise. For this year's trade show, Bihar will be the state in focus and its untapped potential will be highlighted to the visitors. IITF has always been one of the most eagerly anticipated even in the calendar of major traders and this year's event is expected to live up to the expectations.IITF Delhi is largest consumer goods fair in the Indian sub-continent.

Volunteering Brings Good Life

Volunteering at HEEALS can be an enriching and empowering experience. Not only does it give people a chance to do something to benefit others, it brings with it a sense of personal fulfillment and worthVolunteering can provide opportunities to use your skills in many ways.

Great thing to see young kids volunteering and learning to give something of them. Start your children young. Teach them to contribute and help others. It helps a child build confidence, humility, skills and a good attitude about life. Yes, it contributes to a child in many of the same ways as it contributes to an adult.

Most people complain about government spending and how government gets into too many areas of our lives where they don’t belong. A large way we can reduce government spending and involvement in our lives is by volunteering. If every individual volunteered just an hour a week, we could replace lakhs of Rupess  spent on social issues with our services.

Positive Impact – Be Part of the Solution
Making the world a better place is actually very simple. Participate in the solution, not the problem. You don’t need to give much of your time to make a positive impact. A few hours each month can make the life of someone much better and make a world a better place.

Humble Yourself
Seeing life through others’ eyes can be a bit humbling. When life gets a little tough, volunteering can help you see life may be better then you thought. It also helps take your mind off your own problems. It adds perspective and helps solve personal issues.

Challenge Yourself & Others
Sometimes work doesn’t provide enough challenges or the right type of challenge. Volunteering can add the challenge you might be looking for. Sometimes work doesn’t offer areas of education or skill development you need to enhance your career or qualify for a promotion. Volunteering may be just what you need for your next promotion.

Personal Growth
Do you have an area of interest or a personal skill you would like to learn? Volunteering helps in building personal skills and growth.

Revive your Skills
Have you learned a skill in your lifetime that you rarely have the opportunity to use today? Volunteering can give you the chance to do something you enjoy or revive your  skill that is a bit out of practice or even outdated.

Meet like minded People’s
Volunteering can offer the opportunity to meet people with the same interests you have. It’s also a way to become part of a community, meet your neighbors or feel at home in a community.

Stay Younger
Volunteering brings fountain of youth. Volunteering brings energy, activeness and happiness. Any of these experiences will make you feel younger.

Feel Good & Build Self Confidence
Contributing to others and the community you live in make you feel good about yourself and your life. It can also give you a more positive view of your community.

Use Your Hobby and Interest to Contribute

There’s no better way to contribute then through a hobby and interest you love. Your hobby can improve the lives of others and you get to do more of something you love. Imagine that!

Get immersed in India’s crafts & culture : Welcome To Surajkund International Crafts Mela

Surajkund International Crafts Mela  is an annual fair celebrated in Faridabad District, Haryana. The festival showcases the art, craft and cuisines of India. The crafts persons from SAARC nations also participate in this Fair. The Mela is located at a distance of 8 km from south Delhi in the historic site of Surajkund.
The ancient Sun Temple stood here during AD 1000. The remains of the temple are still present here. The enchanting aura of the place won the heart of a Tomar chieftain Surajpal, a worshipper of the Sun god, who got a sun pool and an amphitheatre built here. The place was named after him. Surajkund was a simple tourist destination till 1987, when it was first organized. Later on it became a famous site which celebrated the centuries old crafts and traditions of India.

This magnificent handicraft and handloom fair is held annually. The place is setup as a typical rural marketplace displaying the rich arts and traditions of India by the skilled artisans, sculptors, weavers and craftsmen. To give the fair a complete traditional touch, traditional cultural programs are held and rural cuisine is served.
The theme of the Surajkund fair is worked upon two main levels and is different every year. Out of the two levels, the first one is the setting of the place, the look of the entrance and the grounds which generally is dedicated to one particular state. The other level is a more purposeful one that is, highlighting a particular craft every year with half of the stalls showcasing it. There are about 400 stalls in this fair. To book a stall in the Surajkund Craft Mela, one has to fill up a tender and submit it in the Surajkund Mela Office in the first week of January.
The stalls not only sell these crafts but also act as a workshop for the craftsmen and enable the public to see how the crafts are made. Pottery, weaving, sculpture, embroidery, Paper Mache, bamboo and cane crafts etc are seen in abundance. Also metalwork and wooden work are a major part of the fair.
Such a fair is incomplete without food and beverage stalls. So there is an equally amazing food section which serves a huge variety of traditional Indian cuisines with fast food available too. There are fun rides setup for children and traditional entertainment shows, such as fold dancing, street drama for all.

Surajkund International Crafts Mela celebrates the unique diversity of Indian traditions and culture in an ambience created to represent the ethos of rural India. Surajkund International Crafts Mela showcases some of the most exquisite handlooms and handicrafts of India. Handmade fabrics soaked in ethnic colours make an eye catching display for the visitors.
The Mela was conceived primarily to promote the pool of skilled artisans, who used indigenous technology, but were suffering due to the cheaper machine-made imitations. This is an earnest effort by Surajkund Mela Authority & Haryana Tourism to provide a platform for craftspersons and wavers to directly market their wares by eliminating the middlemen.
Goa- The theme state for this 28th Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2014.
Sri Lanka has been chosen as the PARTNER NATION. A contingent of craftspersons from Sri Lanka will showcase best of handlooms and handicrafts of their country in a unique ambience that would transfer you to the tropical island nation.
Surajkund is the annual fair that showcases the finest handlooms, handicrafts, authentic fragrances & flavours of rich Indian cuisines. National and State awardee craftspersons from every corner of India showcase their ethnic art and crafts at Surajkund. The craftspersons from SAARC Nations also participate in the Surajkund Crafts Mela.
28th Surajkund International Crafts Mela will offer a lot of fun, frolic, entertainment and exclusive shopping experience. In a rural ambience, craftspersons display and demonstrate their finest crafts work that is set to capture many hearts. The authentic fragrances & flavours of rich Indian cuisines at the Food Courts will tantalise your taste buds. Tap your feet with the beats of enthralling folk dancers from the various parts of the country.
The Mela ground is spread over 40 acres and houses about 735 work huts that host craftspersons and weavers.  The scintillating folk performances at the two ‘Chaupals’ and mesmerizing evening recitals at ‘Natyashala’ rev up the entertainment quotient. There are designated places for amusement, adventure sports and joy rides to make it a must visit event for the young.Vibrant, colourful, joyous – a meeting ground for every visitor and participant alike – depicting the uniqueness of India’s incomparable heritage that’s the essence of the Surajkund International Crafts Mela. Over the years, the Mela has grown by leaps and bounds from a small beginning to becoming one that is truly international is a tribute to the commitment and vision of the Surajkund Mela Authority and Haryana Tourism.
